Welcome to our Launch Page for the NEW BOOK-
Airmail to Texas: 8,422 Miles from Home
AUTHOR: LINDA ANN
Linda Ann was barely over toddler age when her father, Charles, went to war along with so many other brave men and women during the frightening years surround World War II. Linda Ann lived with her mother, Wauldean while waiting for her Daddy to come home. Her mother and grandmothers stood strong together to hold the family together while waiting much longer than they first hoped and keeping secrets that they couldn't tell anyone.
More than 70 years after they were written, Linda Ann discovered the mysterious letters that her mother had kept in a private box of papers. The letters from Charles to his beloved Wauldean helped tell their story about wartime, not war. The women who inherited the story decided to create this book, a love of labor that took years to develop into what you can read now!
Linda Ann still lives in the Panhandle of Texas with her husband Jack. Her sister and daughters live nearby and the family is very close. Linda and her daughters continue to work on other writing projects and entrepreneurial endeavors.
Wauldean, the heroine of the book, believed in the strength of women and family. We honor Wauldean's memory and that of her amazing husband, Charles.
